I see the Leven Valley Classic Trial is coming up pretty quick – they have 300 entries !! including Harry McKay and Adrian Lewis from Lewisport USA. – I think Bernie Schreiber might also be there. – Too bad the classic scene has not caught on over here ( But we did try!!) See below – the Vintage at the Stony Plain Outlaw Trial ( my last competition at age 70) – Jimmy (rip) on one of my Ossa, and Taff on one of my Fantics.

Below are some memories of our early climbs up Joss Mountain – as you can see – quite difficult back then. – plus of course the snow we had sometimes. Including that very first time. – In later years, the mountain bikes got in there “Grooming” the tough bits and in the end got the climb banned to motorbikes.

It was Mark Thompson, who first contacting me about the ride up the old 1920 Pack horse trail to the Fire lookout, which ironically was never used. – Mark said a Trials bike was the best machine for the job as the route was too hard on an enduro – I sold him a Gas Gas Trials bike, on the condition he take me on the next trip. – I was so impressed by that first ride, that I did it a total of eight times, the last on my 75th birthday with Stan Bakgaard.
