Mornin’ Bloggers !!! Hope your weekend went well and everybody stayed “Cool” a better time for boating in the Okanagan than Trials riding. Although I did get out with Barry lots of times in the heat, back in the day – usually very early around 6.30 am – always good days to stop for a cool one later at Luigi’s Pub in Kelowna.

Answer to the last quiz – John Moffat the Scottish “Trials Guru” and the guy who has sent those red caps to people around the world he thinks have done a lot to promote the Sport – Yes I got the first one in Canada, which came as a surprise, plus John posted my story on his website.
Of course Brett got that quickly as did Roger Boothroyd – Roger also sent some pics from the Boomer Trial ( see below)
Here are a couple taken by Dale Coull – top Gary Nordstrom riding in his final Trial before calling it a day.

And another of Ryan Bell also on one of the popular TY Yams.

Meanwhile in Europe they have completed some Championships
Here is Luca Petrella who won on the new Beta Sincro Factory model.

And Alicia Soyer who won the Ladies Class on the TRS.

Quiz today – Guess who?

Check out this pic from the Reeth # Day Trial – They had 250 entrees – The reason perhaps is that the event features a long 40 mile loop in the Yorkshire Countryside – sensible natural sections. – The way Trials should be!!!! (IMHO)

It was interesting chatting to the family from Sask via.South Africa about the Trials of today., the Dad agreed with our philosophy that the family events and a nice loop is way more enjoyable, perhaps this is how they run things in the Capetown area. – Not that there isn’t a place for Trials “Stunt” shows, but I think they should be on a limited scale to promote what the sport is all about. – I’m guessing that not many of the new riders getting into trials have any knowledge of the History. – I really hope the sport doesn’t end up all “Hop & Bop”
We will have to wait and see if they can get some interest back in Southern Sask – limited terrain of course, but never say never.
I remember selling a Sherco to some guys from Saskatoon at a Calgary Motorcycle Show years ago – they strapped it on the roof of their Caddy to transport home!!!! Yup it takes all sorts. – ( I wish I had a photo of that)
