Mornin’ Bloggers – Today is quite a special date, as it’s Steve Baker’s and my birthday. -Here are a couple of pics, I got to know Steve quite well during my Yamaha Canada days. – Steve is 74 today, but I turn 89- Also sharing this date is Doug McCrae of Calgary, – who used to be a partner in Blackfoot Motorcycle. As most of our bloggers know, I would dearly love to be at the Ymir Trial this weekend. But unfortunately this was not possible. – Here is a pic of one of the great expert sections from a previous event with Taff jumping out of the way of Steve Day.

It was after a Ymir Trial 14 years ago, that Stan suggested we do the Joss Mountain Climb on our way back home!! – Sure I said a great way to celebrate my 75th birthday. – Well, as I have told the story before, this last trip up the mountain was for me a real test, as I did not realise I had a health issue. – Suffice to say we made it that day on a Beta Factory 300, definitely not the right bike for an old guy. – (An Estart TRS or Beta 200 would have made my life a lot easier) Here are a few pics. – Without Stan’s help starting the Beta – I would likely still be up there.
As everybody knows – the Mountain bikers got this great area made out of bounds for motorized bikes. – they groomed the trails etc.
