Birthday greetings to Tony Allen who had a birthday on Sunday – seen here with his Dad at the 1981 ISDE in Wales – bit of an untold story about that – as most will recall if you read the reports of this really tough event, Tony had the countershaft sprocket on his IT 250 wear badly due to the mud, which could have caused a DNF – However our Tony used all his Canadian talent, by riding back to the Parc Ferme then finding a spectator with the same model bike and sweet talking him into “Borrowing” his sprocket, then getting back out onto the loop !!! Yes Tony was a member of the 2nd place Silver Vase Team and one of the Team Yamaha Canada riders.

Sunday we spent a very quiet day – watched some TV – plus the latest Itchy Boots tape. interesting gas tank fix!!!
There is one thing we would like to stress once again, we are Outlaw Trialsport – NOT Outlaw Racing – We do not sell “Race” bikes – we sell “Trials” bikes. – We do have decals on our van saying Beta Racing – but we only sell the Beta Trials bikes. – There ! that’ s out of the way. –
It was nice to see Dan Thorpe post a comment after a UK Trial yesterday – 6 hours on the bike and not one man-made section – “Perfect”

We actually got to read the latest Mojo Mag, with our morning coffee and really enjoyed the Norton Daytona story. – We can’t speak highly enough about both the quality and content of this Canadian Mag, definitely worth a subscription. – And head office is right here in Vernon.
As many of our bloggers know, we had a couple of Norton 600 Dominators back in the 1960’s, one of which we used for a long trip to the Italian Adriatic Coast – In the article they talk about the famous Featherbed frame that our bikes had, designed by Doug Hele, and which made the Norton a fantastic stable bike, compared to a Triumph of the same vintage – which were very “twitchy” on the corners ( ironically Triumph later lured Hele away from Norton, but it was too late to save the sinking British Bike Industry)
