Mornin’ bloggers – We seem to have forgotten about the quiz yesterday – but the answer to the previous one we think that Scott Section is called Avalanche Alley – Local riders might recall we have a spot on the old Outlaw loop at Summerland called that – here is a pic from a National section at that location a few years ago.. – It shows Stan trying hard on the last tough section in that gulley – Steve Foord gets ready to catch – Toddy looks on. – Don’t think anybody got better than a “3” on that.

Quiz today. – Who is this Kawasaki rider?

Here is the story of Jon English’ Scott Trial experience – another DNF unfortunately.

Scott trial 2026. DNF again! God Dang this is a tough one of me. This year it was a tire issue that put me out. The tire came off the rim just after Surrender section and I could not get it sorted in time. You really don’t have much time to work with if you have an issue. I carry a much more limited pack for this one than I do for Scotland. I was trying to beg and borrow a tire donut to put it back on the rim but nobody had one. Then had to put the front tube in the back. Then the chan tensioner spring broke for good measure when I was putting the wheel back in so I had to bodge that together too! So the day was done for me after only about 2 hours and about 1/3 of the way through. The bike was running well and I was feeling pretty good up to that point. I was running what felt like a decent pace and it was definitely nice having a bit later number this year.
On a positive note my buddy Thomas Hawthorne got his first Silver spoon finishing 24th overall. GREAT FINISH!
Big thanks to Jack and Chas Lee for getting the bike prepped and bringing it up for me.
It’s always great to see my UK friends and compete in these prestigious events, even when things go sideways. I would love to take another crack at this one but we shall see.

We have seen a huge surge in Classic/Vintage Trials in Europe, and maybe we might have more interest in the older twin shocks in the future. Here is a pic I found of my 1973 Bultaco Sherpa T 325 – I really liked that bike and had quite a few good rides on it, before joining Yamaha. – I replaced the stock alloy fenders with Preston Petty units . You will notice how different the bike is compared to the modern units – bars mounted behind the steering stem and far back, a Sammy Miller favorite mod.
