Answer to the last quiz – our good friend (rip) Bob Work the Race manager at Yamaha Motor Canada while I worked for that company – we shared a lot of very good times both at the various functions and at race events, plus testing snowmobiles. – Although it was not my official job – I was able to help Bob sign up a number of MX riders, plus I also looked after the Cross Country Team ( with the help of Walt Healy) Of course Bob is perhaps best remembered for signing Stevie Baker who became World Champion. Here is the complete pic from yesterday taken by my daughter at the 2018 Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame. – – Bo ( as he was known) was also a good friend of Don Clark and used to go hunting with him back in the day, – Both Bob and Steve Baker were inducted into the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 2016.

Quiz today – Guess who. – Hint – he is from Western Canada. and a regular “Blogger”

Results are in from the Costa Brava, and a surprise win for Tom Sagar from our old home club in Oswestry. – the Sagar family were quite famous and Tom went on to win some big events in enduro ( I think he was World Champ one year) – but also rode the Scottish a number of times. Although I never did meet Tom as I had moved to Canada by the time he got competing, I did know his Grand Dad and uncles very well. Tom lost zero points for the Two days.- Buddy Harry McKay finished 26th in his class with 48 points.
We will post more pics when Harry sends some. As posted earlier they had close to 500 riders at this trial, so how they managed to cope is amazing. – Here is Harry with his buddy.

A funny story regarding Alan Sagar ( Tom’s Grand Dad) When I went to the 1983 ISDE in Wales, one day we were trying to find the place we were supposed to go for our checkpoint, and seeing a group of people standing at one point – I jumped out of the car and went over to ask directions – the one chap had his back to me and turned around when he heard me speak – and then said in a loud voice “Bloody Hell- Dusty Rhodes” – (Dusty was my nick name in Wales) – Like they say ‘it’s a small World” – it had been over twenty years since we left the UK so really a strange meeting. – I did also see Alan at the Scottish in 1993 – sadly he is no longer with us.
Below is a photo from back in the day at the local Scramble – a young Wally Sagar ( Alan’s brother and Tom’s uncle) is in front on the grass, while I’m standing on the left. – I think that only Margret Morris, standing on the right side, is still alive, apart from myself.
