Good morning bloggers !!! The question I think for today is “Has winter now arrived?”
Anyway – answer to the last quiz – it was a pic of John Jones at the 1971 Western Canadian National trial, riding a converted Kawasaki Enduro 175- sponsored by Kaw Importer Manley’s of Ontario. – John was lucky to finish as the Kaw kept seizing up -Harlow, and Pete Varey both got it, while Brett knew the first name John??.
That was another Alberta Trial to remember, – as it snowed big time on Saturday night and I had to lead the riders around the 30km pls loop because arrows and tape were down.
It would have been easier to have cancelled the event, but with riders from Ontario and the States etc – the show really had to go on.
I recall that I was just getting over a broken leg and knee surgery and now riding a Blackfoot Motorcycle sponsored, Montesa, so a lot that could go wrong actually did ( see pic below) – That’s Danny Smith from the USA pushing the dead Monty. – We pushed it through the last few Creek sections for “5” s , so we could get a Team finish. (and 3rd place)

Here is a pic of Team Blackfoot Montesa – Murray Nutt, Wayne Adderson, and Dave Rhodes.

Quiz today – Who is this guy????

======================================
Now here is a great shot of the one and only Stan Bakgaard doing one of his famous flick turns at a demo in Kelowna around 1985.
As usual, Stan will be heading to Mexico pretty quick for the winter, but I’m sure he will send us some pics and keep checking the blog.
( Was it really 43 years ago that I got Stan that ride on the Yamaha??)

Jordi just signed up another rider Teo Colairo ( no I’ve never heard of him either!!!) but seems he is a champ someplace!!

Yesterday turned out quite well in the weather department, and we were able to do the up Valley trip to deliver Opti Snowmobile oil – we did see some of the white stuff on the hills North of Enderby, and the forecast is for some more in our area today.

As everybody who has ever attended any of the Shuswap events knows – the Saturday night Ross roast – is one not to be missed – but check out this one at the Costa Brava!!!

There are now more really good pics of the Costa Brava Trial on FB – I snagged this one of winner Tom Sagar, who we did a bit of a story on a couple of days ago. (Thanks to the photographer)
