A couple of days back – I mentioned the Trials Tube video that featured Steve Saunders and also voiced some critical comments regarding the Danny Butler videos. – Well ! I can now say that I just watched the last one which featured Tom Sagar and Jack Dance and glad to post, that this is really worth watching – mainly because Tom Sagar was allowed to talk quite freely, without being interrupted.
As some may know – Tom Sagar won the Costa Brava last year, but what might not be known is that he was also a World Champion in Enduro, plus has ridden the Scottish Six Days many times, always on the leader board.
We were lucky enough to know the Sagar family back in the 1950’s as they belonged to our local club, and Alan (Tom’s Grandad) was the club Trials Champ. – Alan also helped me with my bike when I first got into Trials as a young 16 year old. – I did mention some time ago, that I was lucky enough to meet up with Alan in 1983 at the ISDE in Wales and also saw him in Scotland in 1989.
Perhaps the most striking thing about the interview with Tom Sagar, is his very humble and down to earth accounts of the various events and bikes, and to be fair Danny Butler did what I would class to be the best one of these podcasts that we have seen to date. ( do you think he might read my blog? – just kidding)
