Answer to the last quiz – John Shirt on Fersit 1989 – I was at that event – but did not stay the whole week as my daughter wanted to head South. – as reported earlier, that was the year Jordi introduced the new Beta Zero prototype to the Scottish moors – the moors won!!!!
Harlow was first in but did not get the section which was a toughie – In 1992 Harry McKay insisted that we make the long (very long) uphill climb to that section, but I twisted my knee badly jumping over a creek (which later needed an operation!!!) – That was a very painful day.

Earlier we mentioned the need to have a long loop to spread out the riders and avoid this type of congestion!! This still happens at the Scottish when riders get a “Delay” card so they are not penalized for being late on time.
