Mornin’ bloggers – hope you are all coping with this hot spell !! I find it really quite tough I guess because of my age – I wilt like a flower!!
Answer to the last quiz was Rob Shepard riding the old section known as Garbyn or something like that – most riders referred to it as Garbage-bin !! – It’s no longer used as a landslide destroyed it. – John Kitchener got it and said he rode that section back in the day – Bob-Brett and Pete also got most of it correct, as did Peter from OZ.
Quiz today. – Guess who?

We now have a corrected VMC poster – As I said to Roger, I get bit ticked off seeing this spelling mistake but mainly because I get so much mail and cheques spelled Outlaw Trailsport, because people think we have made an error!!.

So we heard from Turk who told us he had a very challenging ride to celebrate his birthday – he even posted a sign at a high spot to prove he was there!! Way to go buddy. Also said the TRS worked fantastic.

This reminded me of my last ride up Joss Mountain on my 75th birthday – I’ve told the story before about that day with Stan- It was quite a ride. Perhaps the oldest Trial rider to get up there as it’s now out of bounds.

Can you spot Stan in this pic going up the trail in the Alpine?

We have posted before about the many rides we took up Joss mountain – And it is without doubt one of the best things that I’ve ever done on a Trials bike – because they are perfect for Mountain terrain. – Although the modern bikes are superb for competition, they are ideal for exploring the wonderful Alpine we have in Western Canada.. – We often see posts by Enduro riders doing similar rides, and really the bottom line is – if you have a trials bike, make use of it to explore the wonderful Country we live in. ( Trials bikes leave no signs and are quiet)
Below this was a typical part of the Joss trail, built using pack horses in 1920.

The bottom line is – If you have a Trials bike – and don’t simply want to ride competitions – check out the Mountains !! – We have done lots of Competitions, but the most wonderful experience for me on a Trials bike was standing on top of Joss Mountain for the first time.
