Answer to the last quiz – Bill Sparks on the SWM at the Outlaw Trial we held at Greenstone Mountain near Kamloops – It was Krash Crumly who told me about this area, – after our concern about forestry issues at Summerland, and yes the two events we held there were really great, we were able to use the spring run off down the gullies that made ‘English’ style sections, plus a really nice loop, only perhaps spoiled a bit by the blackened trees from the fire 7 years previous. – Krash was a huge help organizing these events.

While we try to post interesting memories from the past of motorcycle events and development – some stories perhaps slip through the cracks and new enthusiasts may not no know these .
Here is one from the time when Yamaha cancelled John Shirt senior as their dealer – a shock for most Trials enthusiasts as Shirty had been the backbone promoting the TY series along with Mick Andrews. – He then went on to be the Gas Gas Importer and did the same great job along with son John JR – before being cut again this time when KTM bought GG and really took them into the toilet.

I saw this pic which made me laugh – taken at the Goodwood Festival of Speed showing some well known Yanks – and then yes then there is Sammy at the back – more famous than any of them, and still promoting motorcycling. – he likely got a chuckle out of that.
