Well! The Weather in the Valley is absolutely stunning – my favorite time of the year ( although we could use a shower or two) .
Answer to the last quiz – a pic I took of Gordon Farley in Scotland in 1972 – the section is Pipeline. – Farley was usually wearing his spotted woolly hat back then just before helmets became compulsory in 1975. – he was a Montesa factory rider ( after Don Smith) and back then I was impressed enough to get a sponsored ride on one from Blackfoot Motorcycle, however I did not get on well with the bike, and was soon back on a Bultaco.
Bob Clark was first in with the correct answer, soon followed by Stan and Harlow. – later Peter from OZ.
Quiz today – Who is this Well known rider taking a dive in Scotland?

Check out this line up of bikes at the Corduroy – Blair and his team do a fantastic job promoting this event.

We have mentioned before about the wide range of models that Bultaco built back in the day, everything from Trials bikes ( where they began) – to Road Racers and various other models. – Check this out ( see the cable for the rev counter) – Barry Sheene began his career on a Bultaco Road racer, sponsored by Bill Webster.

One of our regular bloggers, and a guy who had quite a career in Off road events back in the UK – remarked how the ISDE these days has changed from how it used to be -and not for the better, (in his opinion), – now there is more focus on the MX tests, with the daily loops much more like a trail ride. – I saw this pic from an early ISDT– ( when it was called a Trial) with riders flailing through the mud, and a reminder from the 1983 event we were at in Wales. – I’m sure old campaigners like Helmut Clasen likely shake their heads at the way things have changed.
Before the Welsh event, I told our Yamaha Team riders to practice riding muskeg – which proved to be very good advice.
