Mornin’ bloggers – welcome to another hot day in the Valley !!
Below is a pic we have posted before of the section at Ioco used in the World Round they held in 1990 – it’s what many are calling “A proper section” “Stanly Falls”

And here is another “Proper” section – At Greenstone Mountain.

Unless as Harlow used to say ” You have been sleeping under a rock” – you will know that the motorcycle industry is going through some tough times – below is a pic of a British super bike Store that just closed the doors, leaving 273 ( yes that is correct) people out of work. ( Remember Dougie Tanaka’s saying “GO BIG- GO BLOKE”) – Don’t think it can’t happen here!!! As Glen Turple said to me at one time – “I’ve seen em come- and I’ve seen em go”

Yesterday I watched some video footage from the Romaniacs – very interesting to see these guys struggling through some super tough terrain – I think it helps to be be tall and strong to compete at this level – what I found quite incredible was Mani the top guy had the battery go flat on his KTM and with no kickstart!!! stuck in a gulley, but somehow managed to finish ahead of the field. – I’m old enough to remember when motor cars had starting handles and still kept in the toolbox even when estarts came into fashion.
Also remember the the BVM rider took the kicker off his estart TRS to ride the Scottish last year -he finished all Six Days no problem – I guess he was either very confident or stowed it in his backpack, just in case!! – back in the day we would never go on a long ride without a pocket full of spare spark plugs and a small nail file to fix any sparky issues. with the points on the mag ignitions.

Answer to the last quiz Johnny Draper the tiny BSA factory rider who was brilliant at both Scrambles (MX) and Trials. -Also the brother in law of World Champ Jeff Smith. – Roger Boothroyd and Brett got that.
Quiz today. Guess who?

I know I’ve mentioned this before – but if you do go out riding in this hot weather – best make sure you fit a Sparky, just in case you get stopped by a ranger.
