With all the bad news about fires and smoke in our valley, thought i would post this shot from a ride we did over on the westside earlier this year – absolutely gorgeous day, -I was out on my favorite TRS 125.- and the good news is that we just got a phone call from Roy, to tell us, yes they were evacuated from The Valley of the Sun, but only because the power is off all down that side due to the big fires North of their location, and 100’s of power poles down. – he tells me they are staying at the Airport Hotel in Kelowna ( pretty fancy) as that was where they were told to go, at least until this Sunday. – We had quite a long chat and he seems quite “upbeat” but then again Roy usually is. – ( Not the first time they have been evacuated)
So at this stage, the area around were we usually ride appears to have escaped any fire damage!! ( fingers crossed)
In early morning news, we now see that there is a big new fire near Summerland BC – Looks bad.
