Mornin’ bloggers – hope you are all getting fired up for riding this long weekend – there is a reason I posted the pic above, as it shows me out on my TRS 125 – and as many of you will know, this is one of my favorite bikes. Also I just noticed that Danny Butler has just done a video clip on riding one. on his Trial Tube site.

Now, I’m not a big fan of Danny or his videos, but I think this one is worth watching because it might be the only one he has done on a 125!! It should also be mentioned, that he is a big lad!! something he also said, while I only weigh 140 lbs!!!!!
I guess the bottom line is that the modern 125 bikes are REALLY good, and as George Hemingway showed capable of winning the Scottish six Day trial – if only he had not had that bad ‘5’ on the last day.
Not that I’m expecting any big sales boom on 125 Trials bikes !! but in the right hands they are simply a “Hoot” to ride.
Some of our bloggers, may remember the test “Shoot-out” we did in 2018, between the Beta Evo 125 and the TRS 125 !!
Older readers may also recall that George Fisher won the Scottish back in the 50’s on a Francis Barnett which I think was a bored out 197cc Viliers – certainly no rocket ship. – But at that time there were a lot of small British Factories producing lightweight bikes – many just converted street models. ( That is what we started on)
There is also a good video of the Manx Classic two day on You Tube, which shows a lot of the very special BSA Bantams now popular for these events, of course they are now all fitted with special frames/suspensions plus the motors now have a lot more “Go”
Not that these Trials videos are that interesting for people not familiar with the sport – that is why the new style Circus type events get more coverage. ( Because they are quite spectacular)
However I did notice a comment by young Jack Galloway after the last Euro Outdoor FIM – He said they were Indoor Sections in the Outdoors
