Mornin’ bloggers – looks like we have a nice drop of rain in a lot of areas today. – check out this pic sent us by Ted Pepperdine from the Summerland burn area. – Neat.

We have posted this pic of Katie today, because in our opinion, she is a really great gal, and to push herself the way way she has the past couple of years, is incredible. We hope she enjoys her next European “Holiday” to compete at the TDN then go to the ISDE is both fun and that she comes home with memories to last a lifetime. – Like most Cannucks who challenge themselves in World competition, Katie has had very little financial help. – When we consider that Katie did not even know how to ride a Trials bike just a couple of years ago, her story of grit and determination should be admired by all.
We don’t know of any other rider, male or female, who have competed in two different world events at this level, in the same year.

Answer to the last quiz – Yes it was a young Mick Andrews riding a bit of a strange bike that never did make production. – It had an exhaust that exited below the engine, and it reminded me of a bike that Kelvin Marshal showed up with at the 1971 Western Canadian Championship Trial near Bragg Creek – We have mentioned before how we had snow overnight that really should have cancelled the event, but with riders from Ontario and Stateside the show had to go on. Unfortunately for Kelvin his bash-plate designed exhaust only lasted until the first big rock step section., then he was DNF.
Quite a few got that it was Mick in the pic, but nobody, including myself knew about the bike.
Quiz today. – One for our Western group – he lives in Alberta, but spent time on the West coast – Who is it and Where??

To quote our recently departed old friend Harlow Rankin – ” Unless you have been living under a rock” – You will all know that our sport is going through some tough times – Obviously the KTM debacle with Gas Gas dumping, has likely caused a lot of Trials dealers to close shop. – and not just Trials dealers.
We now see that this has spread to the States !! Obviously a time for concern for anybody who is really involved in this business.
What the future holds is anybody’s guess – enjoy this great sport while you can. –
